Picture of Lake Erie Walleye

Lake Erie is known around the world for its outstanding walleye fishery. Michigan's western basin of Lake Erie is home to millions of walleye and jumbo perch. Anglers from all over the Midwest flock to the Western Basin of Lake Erie, ("Walleye Capital of the World") in the spring through early summer. Walleye are prized because of its tender, flavorful fillets.

Yellow perch are also plentiful along the reefs and islands of the lake throughout the late summer and fall seasons. Fishing captains specialize in family fishing and you should end up with a cooler full of excellent eating fish, and after your fishing charter you can have your fresh fish cooked and one of the participating Michigan Catch and Cook restaurants.
